Description
Informed by the Christian tradition, the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies at the University of Fort Lauderdale is the framework for our undergraduate education. It provides for the development of broad knowledge and abilities to prepare students to recognize and appreciate the wholeness of life. Students will develop skills important to the responsibilities of a well-educated person. The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies provides students a foundation for life-long learning, responsible leadership in their communities, and meaningful service in the world.
Program Objectives
A graduate of the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies program will be able to:
- Articulate and defend a clear intellectual argument in oral and written form;
- Collect, evaluate and synthesize evidence relevant to an issue or question;
- Act with intellectual integrity;
- Identify and assess the ethical dimensions of an issue;
- Describe principal elements of Western civilization’s intellectual tradition;
- Apply the Western civilization’s intellectual tradition in analyzing current issues;
- Identify the key intellectual contributions of non-Western societies;
- Communicate the main academic principles of the student’s chosen degree
Prerequisites
Students must meet the entrance requirements of University of Fort Lauderdale.
